Since there are much less people working on the ps3 emulator than there were on a ps2 emulator,and the ps3 is more complex than the ps2 it'll take much much longer for them to code it. There is no ps3 emulator that can play commercial games.the most successful one can only play simple homebrew games.Īs to the specs needed to emulate a ps3,they won't need to be extreme,I'd say an average i5 sandybridge with a midrange graphics cards like a 650/650 ti and ideally 8GB of ram,but 8GB ram is just a generally good spec to be able to function well with a majority of programs.Īlthough if the emulator could run commercial games today you could have a 3970X and a GTX Titan (since emulators generally favor Nvidia cards and can't use multiple gpu's) with 16GB of 2ghz memory and still get bad fps.this wouldn't be due to hardware lacking,it'd be more so due to lack of took pcsx2 around 10 years to get the emulator as perfected as it is now,and there are still bugs.and they had a much larger team than RPCS3.
